About River City Steel Company

In April of 1999, Mike Stout and Jeff Babb organized a business plan for River City Steel Company. The two started in a small office in Fenton, Missouri. River City Steel was relocated to its current location in Warrenton, MO in August of 2000.

In September of 2004, River City Steel Company acquired Sosco, Inc. a specialty tubing company based out of Sauget, IL. Now known as River City Specialty Tube, this division specializes in DOM, Hot Finished Seamless, and Cold Drawn material. In January of 2006, River City Specialty Tube moved from Sauget, IL, with their main warehouse now located in Camdenton, MO and sales office located in Warrenton, MO.

Upon the completion of the Sosco acquisition, River City Steel then acquired Lake Steel, located in Kaiser, MO. In January 2007, with the completion of the new 30,000 sq foot warehouse, Lake Steel was relocated to its current address in Camdenton, MO.

Now River City Steel has grown into a 90,000 square foot warehouse and 20 plus acres of outside storage. River City Steel specializes in excess prime and secondary square and rectangular tubing. They complement this product line with excess prime and secondary pipe.
